Intro Post Thingymabob

A blog. God, I feel like such a conformist.

But whatever. I feel like I probably should have created this back when I was embarking on my initial weight loss venture, but I didn't, so meh. The least I can do is set something up for the last twelve pounds. Also that whole "vegetarian for a month" thing is probably pretty significant too.

So, here's what's up: I am going to embark on a quest to eat vegetarian for the entire month of May. Why? A few reasons.


2) I want to see if I can do it.

3) I want to lose some weight. I've already lost 96 lbs in about a year and a half, but I've got twelve left until I reach my goal weight, and I know there are studies out there that say being a vegetarian will hep you lose weight. If you do it properly, obviously, i.e. replace meat proteins with bean proteins and veggies and not pasta, rice and massive amounts of cheese*. I'm looking at you, Raquel.

So I'm making this blog to chronicle my meals and my progress. I'm a decent cook so I'm excited to try out all sorts of new vegetarian meals in this venture, which is motivation enough in itself, but mostly, I just want to see if I can actually do it. I do profess to love meat; if for some reason they ever stop making skirt steak I may have to kill myself, but I respect vegetarians and where they come from, so I figure, why not step into their shoes for a while and see what it's like?

*Note that small amounts of cheese are still obviously okay. I mean, it's cheese.
